This work was inspired by the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest of California’s Eastern Sierra. Some trees here are as old as the pyramids but are left unmarked, so it is left up to the imagination to wonder.  This pillar of time clings to the side of a slope, growing slowly, battered and twisted by its extreme conditions.  Artwork by Rachael Pease.
