Personal branding is the process of defining and promoting who you are as an individual and how you want to be perceived by others. This term has been especially popularised in the era of social media. While building your personal brand can seem easier than ever, it is also becoming increasingly overwhelming.
Being an artist isn’t an easy life choice, and many artists need to manage multiple commitments, such as full-time jobs, household chores, family commitments, and fitness. This leaves very little time to worry about running their own social media accounts and building personal branding.
Unfortunately, it is very difficult (verging on impossible) to be a successful NFT artist without a social media presence.
Here are 3 tips to keep in mind when it comes to planning your social media activity.
1. Don't put too much pressure on yourself - the worst thing you can do is set yourself unrealistic targets - it's better to post 3 high quality posts a week than try to post 5 times a day and hate it. It takes time to get used to being active on your own social media.
2. Don't try to be present on all social media platforms at once! For NFT Artists the most important platform is X. We would also recommend being active either on TikTok (only if you feel confident and comfortable enough to be on camera) or Instagram (if you prefer staying off camera but would like a nice place to showcase your art).
3. Engage with people in the space - don't be shy! People in the NFT and art space are friendly and want to hear from you. Say GM to everyone, engage with people on Spaces, DM people, ask for advice - remember, people are in the space for a reason and the more people succeed, it's better for everyone!
Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day.
You will make mistakes, you won’t go viral with your first, second or even hundredth post.
However, the more consistent you are, the easier it’ll get. Results and success will follow - just be patient.
